The everyday El Nido

Fresh from the pan fried lumpia and squid balls (a little squid in dough balls) from a roadside stand
Local market with the usual fruits and vegetables, fish, meat, live chickens, bamboo
Filipino breakfast is usually a hit with this crew, but Marion would like her corn beef swapped for eggs please. I think that’s what this face is saying.
A little strawberry shortcake anyone? Please…pretty please could someone pop this way, because Mom is real bad at he imaginary play after we’ve baked all of the things and gone for a ride for our picnic. So happy when the girls are contented playing with each other. They’ve been really good together (not without their fights, but overall awesome).
Sweet, hot sisters on the way to the beach. Another trike ride.
Our boudoir (and living and dining and laundry and play room and parlor and office 😆😁) chad and I fit in the bottom bunk and Alys on top. Thank goodness we instituted the rule that she slept by the wall and Marion had to sleep on the lower twin (from where I’m taking the picture). Because no rail on the top bunk and the fall from the twin to the floor was enough to hurt Marion’s head enough that Mom stayed up from midnight to 4am gently rousing her every 30 minutes to make sure she didn’t have a head injury. That’s how that works right 🙄🤦‍♀️. Oh heavens the poor girl. She has fallen and hit her head I think 3 times or more already on this trip. Resilient these girls.
More market wandering
I am definitely putting more ginger in all of my foods. So good!
A long hot day calls for a mango shake. Yum!
Marion working in her “secret language” that only SHE can read and speak. “It’s a lot of hard work writing this whole page!”

How’s school for our folks back home? We think we’re doing ok, but I really probably need to do a bit more educating of myself on this teaching biz. Good thing we have such bright girls.
Just a giant platter of pancit please
