If only the pictures could do it justice. Maybe if I took as many pictures or did as long of a photo shoot as our boat mates…but I think you can get the gist of the beauty we were surrounded by all day.

The water was incredible. That emerald azul that comes with pristinely clear water. And there were TONs of fish and a huge array of coral. One of our favorite sites (if one could pick a thing like that, which I can’t) were these large clam shaped…coral? Anemone? Clam? That was Bright-blue-green or purple-blue-neon pulsing open and closed like a giant lipsticked mouth. There were anemones waving, brain coral and fingerlike corals, all the kinds but more muted colors than Pixar’s world, though there would be the flashes of a new green, a lavender, feathery orange and purples or just a forest of spikes that reminded me of the thorn forest that surrounded sleeping beauties castle. And then the fish!!

At our first stop it was mostly hundreds of sea cucumbers, which really aren’t my favorite as hey remind me of fat lazy eels or snakes…both of which make my skin crawl. But we did see a lion fish! And Alys took a ride on the giant swing. And Marion just wants to swim and play in the sand. Not a surprising wish with such water and silken sand.

So fish, we saw schools of tiny and schools of big: parrot fish? At least colored in that rainbow fashion and things that resemble much of the Hawaii type (like a humuhumunukunukuapua’a), angel fish, firey blue wrass, and speaking of Pixar we did spit little Nemos hovering in anemone homes just as written. There was so much striping of neons, strips of blue purple in a clear fish, yellow and blue running along a needlefish and then loads of clear, white, cream with stripes. Again, can’t do it justice but it was fun. Really fun to have so much to see and for the girls to see too.

We went to five separate islands, but really you didn’t need such variety, how could you compare one spectacular and picturesque white sand, striated cliffs, green jungle and indescribable blue green water to another? We appreciated it all though. And REALLY appreciated the underwater world that seems truly otherworldly. And did I mention how proud I am of these rock star girls? Who are snorkeling and swimming all day and even when they’re a bit tired of the off and on, and restrictions on what they can and can’t do, are being the best at rolling with it and enjoying so much! Whenever anyone asks how they like somehing, the trip, their current activity or the Philippines general, the most common response: Great! 🙂 that’s me beaming.
